I am proud to publish my rates before you have to sit through a sales call.
You should be able to see whether a website is realistically within budget before getting in touch. These are my typical prices for straightforward Squarespace projects, with smaller jobs and support charged at the same open hourly rate.
Transparent pricing from the start
No agency-style price anchoring (where they casually state really high prices but quote a bit less so you think it's a great price) and no trying to work out the maximum you might pay. We agree what the job involves, I confirm the cost, and you decide if it fits your budget.

Useful work is part of the job
Website terminology can make a simple project sound unnecessarily vague. These checklists show what I normally mean by a typical website and an ecommerce website.
The exact number of service pages, products and other content is agreed in your quote, so you will know what I am building before we start.

Code without the theatre
I am a web engineer as well as a website designer. If custom CSS, JavaScript, an embed, an API link or another practical bit of code can be used sensibly within the website to enhance it, I will include it as part of the agreed build.
I will not manufacture an extra charge simply because the solution involves code. If the requirement is a genuine integration with another system and needs separate development, testing or ongoing responsibility, I will explain that and quote it separately before doing the work.
Disruptive by being straightforward
I spent years inside the agency world and saw small businesses offered far more than they needed, often at a price based on what somebody thought they could be persuaded to spend.
Publishing my prices might make it easier for other website creators to compare their own rates and become more competitive. Good. A bit of disruption is the point. Small businesses deserve clearer choices, sensible costs and the confidence to walk away before a sales process begins.
The details
They are the typical prices for straightforward Squarespace projects. I will confirm the scope and price with you before work starts. A larger site, unusual requirements or a genuine integration may need a separate quote.
If I can sensibly use custom code, CSS, an embed or an available API to enhance the website within the agreed build, I will. I do not charge extra simply because I know how to improve something. A genuine integration that needs separate development, testing or ongoing technical responsibility will be quoted separately.
It is usually work where the website must exchange or manage data with another system, rather than using a normal website feature, embed or simple connection. I will explain the difference in plain English and agree any extra cost before starting it.
No. Your Squarespace plan is paid directly to Squarespace, using your own account and payment method. That means there is no hosting markup from me and you keep control of the website.
Small changes and one-off jobs are normally charged at £50 per hour. If the work looks likely to take several hours, I will give you an estimate before I begin.
Send me a rough outline of the website or changes you have in mind. I will tell you honestly which price fits and whether anything needs a separate quote.
