Project case study

Kev's Discounts

A Squarespace shop with useful features that do not feel bolted on

Kev's Discounts needed an online shop that remained easy to run while giving customers better ways to browse products, search the catalogue and understand delivery information.

The brief

The project needed more than a standard brochure website because customers had to be able to browse and buy a changing range of products without getting lost.

The client also needed something manageable. Building an unnecessarily complex custom shop would have increased both the cost and the amount of ongoing technical work.

What I did

I used Squarespace Commerce as the reliable foundation, then added the missing pieces with custom code. This included a proper category bar, a custom search experience and clearer shipping information.

The custom work was designed to feel like part of the website rather than a collection of unrelated extras, and it works across both desktop and mobile.

The result

The finished website gives customers a much clearer route through the product range while leaving the day-to-day shop management inside Squarespace.

It is a good example of using an affordable platform for the majority of a project and adding bespoke code only where it genuinely improves the experience.

Need something similarly straightforward?

I build practical websites for small businesses without the agency performance, unnecessary extras or confusing technical talk.
